How to Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

On one hand, we have unexpected, unwanted pregnancies worrying women to the core, and on the other hand, we have deeply upset women who despite their best efforts seem to be unable to conceive.

The good thing is that irrespective of the side you find yourself in, there is something you can do about it. If you are from the latter group and are unable to conceive a baby, there are a number of things you can do to increase your chances of getting pregnant.

1: The Timing is Important:

Other than having sex, the time you have the sexual intercourse at is equally important. OBGYN doctors recommend having sex two days prior to when you are ovulating. It boosts the chances of getting pregnant. Just simply buy an ovulation kit from a pharmacy and keep track of the ovulating period.

2: Weight Management:

OBGYN doctors also believe weight to be a crucial factor in determining a woman’s fertility. If you are underweight or overweight, you can have difficulty getting pregnant. So manage that weight, bring it to your BMI level and hopefully you’ll have better luck at pregnant.

3: Make Some Lifestyle Changes:

If you smoke or your partner does, it’s time to stop.

In women, smoking can affect the way their uterus responds to the egg, and in men, smoking can reduce sperm production.

Similarly, drinking too much caffeine and alcohol can also hurt your chances of getting pregnant. You don’t necessarily have to stop drinking the beverages altogether, just try to not drink too much of them. If you are a coffee addict, try to limit your coffee intake to 200 milligrams per day only. If you can’t get enough of wine and can’t seem to part your ways with it, try to limit yourself to one or two four ounce glasses of wine.

4: Go Lube-less:

If you are trying to conceive, OBGYN doctors recommend having sex completely lube-free. Several studies suggest that lube actually affects the mobility of the sperm.

5: Stress Management:

Increased levels of stress can also dampen your chances of conceiving a baby. The more you worry about not getting pregnant, the levels of stress hormones will raise up which will get in the way of your conceiving process.

It’s a vicious cycle which needs to broken. And the sooner, the better. Do some meditation or yoga, read a book or two…anything to help you take is easy.

It should be pointed out that while exercise is known for reducing and controlling stress, women who are trying to conceive should refrain from vigorous workout routines. All that extra movement may not be taken too well by your uterus.

6: Take Prenatal Vitamins:

OBGYN doctors also recommend taking prenatal vitamins even though they are usually recommended to women who already have conceived. Prenatal vitamins with B6 are known for boosting a women’s personality and you could use that!

It’s perfectly safe to consume them before conceiving to actually conceive.
